Loretta Davis gave the prayer. There were 8 members present.
Emma Jo Windsor was in charge of the program. Mary Jones gave the program on Hands of Hope Hospice and how Hospice assists patients and family by managing symptoms in home or at a nursing facility. They provide emotional, social and spiritual support for the patient.
The business meeting was opened by Karen Van Sickle. We repeated The Purpose of the United Methodist Women and The Great Commission.
Mildred Conard read the January secretary’s report of the Alpha Joy Circle and the date was corrected. In Billie Charboneau’s absence, Chris Power read the treasurer’s report. There was a balance in the treasury of $483.34. This report was filed for audit.
Betty Arnold sent cards around to be signed and sent to Dorothy and Lewis Pierson, Mary Ann and Warren Brooks, Earl and Vivian Auxier, Ralph Conard and Bethany George.
A letter was received and read from the Friends United and a motion was made to give $25.00 to Friends United. It was seconded by Loretta Davis.
A letter was read by Karen from Church Women United and since we no longer belong to the organized group, we declined the invitation to participate in the program. The Blanket Sunday project will be honored by sending a blanket to InterServ.
Loretta Davis gave The Response taken from Chicken Soup for the Grandparents. The stories were “Grandma and the Chicken Pox” and “Somewhere Bake Ruth is Smiling.”
The March 12th Alpha Joy Circle meeting will be hosted by Karen and Elizabeth Van Sickle. Karen will provide the program and will give The Response. In closing, we read The Benediction lead by Karen Van Sickle.
